We're not into sticking loadsa links on our site just for the sake of it, any that appear here are relevant to Bishybarnybees or are ones that the Bishy team find useful.....
- A great one stop shop, a good place to look for birthday pressies (we buy our fab map envelopes here)
- Eco Street - find out stuff and a Directory
Eco directory with useful information on it. Has Blog and Forum sections where you can join in if you wish.
- Ecotivity - another eco Directory but has articles too.
Another green directory site, but this one has interesting articles on it. Articles are relatively easy to add on so it is a good way to pass on your wisdom!
- Produced In Norfolk
Bishybarnybees is a member of
Produced In Norfolk (PIN) which is a Social Enterprise founded in 2005 to promote and support local producers that are genuinely making their products within the County of Norfolk.
As a producer’s co-operative of over 120 members, PIN is the only organisation in the country to be led by producers, for producers, with the aim of promoting the distinctiveness of the local area in which it operates. PIN’s overall aim is to revitalize the rural economy, through a community development model that is led by members of rural communities rather than imposed upon them.
- Recipe Zaar - strange name, fun site!
Don't let the fact that it's American put you off too much, once you realise you need to reduce the sugar and fat in the recipes they are normally great! Type in an ingredient and find a recipe - many a time I have gone to my fridge and found an odd selection of ingredients left, typed them in here and found a great recipe for a meal. The recipes are reviewed by other cooks and suggestions can be posted to offer variations to the original. You don't have to join anything unless you want to post or review a recipe. You sometimes find a real gem; we especially like the Tanzanian Green Tomato Chutney. It's also good for special diets (Gluten Free, Dairy Free) and has some hearty Vegetarian ideas. Yum!
- The Green Parent - glossy yet green mag
Beautifully produced glossy bi-monthly mag - good for non-parents too! Has some demo online mags that you can read for free as a no-obligation subscription taster. Now has a Forum where you can find stuff out or post to other "greenies".
- Wiggly Wigglers - where the worms live!
We got our worm powered composter from these people. They are always helpful. Their website has useful composting advice on it, plus lots of environmentally friendly garden stuff. They grow their own bird seeds and are keen to encourage natural gardening. Their British floral bouquets are just gorgeous and totally air mile free!

Our Packaging:- Packaging is a necessary evil for an internet based business, but we strive to be as eco-friendly as possible with ours. We use recyclable brown cardboard boxes. Craft packs are packed in reusable, resealable poly bags. Delicate items are wrapped in Oxo-Biodegradable bubble wrap. We use proper old fashioned Jiffy Bags that are more expensive than the thin plastic lined ones, but are made from tough 90gsm kraft paper with a 100% recycled paper fibre lining which makes the bag 100% recyclable. Jiffy Bags and boxes are sealed with recyclable silicone free paper parcel tape that has a natural adhesive. Sometimes we reuse packaging that has been sent to us.
